“Apollo, how the heck does your game work?”

Hello Space Explorers, it’s Apollo again. Yes I’m back to clarify a few things.

Yesterday morning I woke up to a DM from Ylchema (founder of Wand Investments) that went like this (posting with his approval):

Ylchema: I really wish you had informed me you expected us to invest over 200K$ there…In your explanatory message there was no mention of cost.

Me: I don’t expect you to invest $200k in it. You will have other people who will invest in YOUR planet.

Ylchema: Oh ok, that makes more sense.

Me: Apologies for any confusion- this will simply be a Wand branded project in our metaverse

After that conversation, I figured a few others are probably confused how the game will work. Actually this is good time to answer these questions because we are about to kickoff team competitions. So it’s important to explain how it will work. We hope you all to participate. There is a lot at stake.

Note there is still time for new teams to join the competition so we recommend you spread the word if you want your favorite web3 community to be involved and gain access to the benefits described below.

Pre-Launch: The CollectiVerse Cosmic Games

While we are waiting for launch of our planetary governance NFTs, we are instilling some fun competition between web3 communities / teams beforehand. We will reward teams with WL allocations for each contest, as well as for participating. Below is a breakdown how it will work.

  1. To reward early web3 teams and communities that participate in CollectiVerse, we will co-brand 10 to 12 of the initial planets with the name of the team at no cost. Note this doesn’t mean we are giving away planets to teams for free — it means we are placing their name on the planet for the world to see. For example, a planet may be called “Mars -Asguardian Bulls” or P$V or Early Apes (some of our current teams). In the future we will look to sell sponsorships for planet naming rights similar to how stadiums today are named after companies (which will create value for ones branded now). For now, we want early teams to be rewarded. But there’s a catch…
  2. Teams must compete and win fun head-to-head competitions. Team competitions kick off later this week, so be on the lookout. It will be the CollectiVerse Hunger Games. Although our games will be peaceful and on Discord. We call it the CollectiVerse Cosmic Games to align with our space theme.
  3. You must join one team in our discord by going to the “select-your-team” channel and clicking the team’s emoji. Even though you can invest in multiple teams, we need everyone to pick their allegiances to one team only for the competitions.
  4. Winning teams will receive 3 WL for each competition they win. These WL can be shared as a team, given out as a giveaway to their community, or simply given to one person they feel is deserving of it.
  5. There will be a series of games, and the ones that win the most competitions will have the ability to have a planet named after them. This will be based on a lottery or randomizer to determine which planet is assigned a team. Team names will be added to the fractional NFT metadata. The only way a team will lose their brand is if they fail to exist in the future or conduct themselves in a way that’s not aligned with our core values.
  6. We value everyone’s time that participates in the games. To show recognition for this, every team with more than 25 members that is active in all the contests will receive a WL just for participating. We require 25 members so everyone doesn’t create their own team with one person and try to game the system.

Post-Launch

  1. Once the fractional NFTs are available for sale, WL will give first choice to buy the fractional planetary NFTs (up to their allocation of 20 per WL). This will guarantee them the planet of their preference.
  2. Next, we will let people buy based on their Merit System ranking. This is where the Merit System becomes very important. We plan to release the CollectiVerse Merit Leaderboard next week where real contributions, discord activity, invites, and role will determine ranking. Transparency is critical here and core to our values. See below for a sneak peak of how the Leaderboard will look.
  3. Finally, we will open up sales to the public. We expect all planets to be valuable, but if you really have your heart set on a team or planet, it’s important to be involved as outlined in #2.
  4. On average, each planet will be valued at $250,000 or $25 for 10,000 fractional NFTs (it will vary by planet size). 20% of the NFTs will be allocated to the CollectiVerse treasury, which means that there is on average $200,000 NFTs for sale per planet. As I noted to Ylchema, this doesn’t mean teams have to spend their own money on this. This will be available to the public and we will help market for you. Teams will want to have enough ownership to have influence in governance of their planet.
  5. If a planet does not sell out, the only downside is they can’t start virtually terraforming (i.e., compounding) into an additional land NFT or sell more governance tokens to the public. These 2 things allow teams to generate more revenue and access our free partner services (such as KYC and P$V DeFi rankings), which is a competitive advantage. Yet even if a planet doesn’t sell out, teams can do everything else: participate in our no-code DeFi platform, start a project, etc. It also doesn’t affect the 91% APR over 9 months that holders will earn as soon as they purchase their fractional NFTs.

From that point on, teams can separate themselves based on strategy, how well they work together, leadership, innovation in tokenomics or implementing a project, and offering services or merchandise that increase revenue.

CollectiVerse provides teams a platform to raise funds publicly and assert their project is secure. This is meaningful when so many projects are rugging each day. We suggest you identify a project that aligns with what your current project or community.

There have also been questions on the time commitment requirements to participate in CollectiVerse and in teams. We believe, no matter how much or little you choose to participate, you’ll get a lot out of CollectiVerse. The time you invest gets reflected in our Merit System, which provides perks if you rank high. Don’t feel obligated to do everything offered in the game, it’s all optional. We’re excited for you to be part of this journey with us, so let’s go!

How Does The Game End?

It doesn’t. It’s your project and if your team designs it right, it can provide returns for a long time. If CollectiVerse can achieve its potential, the land NFTs you terraform for just $50 each may be worth significantly more, especially as we increase the utility within our space metaverse.

Our desire is that by gamifying the experience, we foster communities working together and discussing how to increase sustainability in DeFi. We know this will have lasting and exciting results!

Also we will do our part by constantly introducing killer innovations into our no-code DeFi engine so projects can offer capabilities unavailable anywhere else. We know that if we help make you successful, we will be successful. That’s the kind of alignment we can all be advocates for.

We look forward to kicking off the games — we will announce timing in our Discord and on Twitter. For now you can select a team and warm up in the war room team channel in our Discord. Good luck!
